Berluscoglioni

"Ho troppa stima dell'intelligenza degli italiani per pensare che ci siano in giro così tanti coglioni che possano votare contro i propri interessi - Scusate il linguaggio rozzo ma efficace".*
- Silvio Berlusconi - meeting with Confcommercio 40 mins ago

Free translation:
"My esteem for the intelligence of the Italians leads me to think that there cannot be so many idiots (literal word used is "balls") who could vote against their own interests (referring to voters of the left) - excuse my rude but efficient language".

Have a look here:

If you don't have the time to watch all these, go for:

-la sinistra portera' morte, terrore...
- la considerazione per le donne
-recalcitranza DS sul conflitto di interessi (Fassino & Grillo)
-l'italia ha il numero piu' alto di automobili & telefonini
-Alessandra Mussolini [this one is a gem]

There's also the infamous Strasbourg charade... the one that included the (in)famous Nazi comment and another one about communists boiling babies...

Grazzi Athena, il-lejla noqgħod narahom kollha!

I don't have much time to search now, but according to a Spanish newspaper, Berlusca & Prodi last night said words along these lines:

Berlusca lil Prodi: "Yours is a vague manifesto in which the only numbers are those of the pages"

Prodi lil Berlusca: "The Presidente del Consiglio hangs on to numbers like a drunkard from a lamppost, not so that it illuminates him but to keep him from falling down"

Jekk xi ħadd isib il-kwotazzjonijiet oriġinali bit-Taljan napprezza.

vera Antoine... smajthom jien stess lol

Ma nistax nifhem kif il-pulitka dinjija waqghet daqshekk ghal sorma da l-ahhar... u kif pulitikanti a la Berlusconi u Bush jibqghu jitilghu fil-gvern bid-dizastri li jhallu warajhom. Ninnota certu mod ta' kif jitkellmu imma, fis-sens li jattiraw l-ghajn u s-simpatija ta' min mhux midhla tal-pulitka. U nahseb li din tghin hafna. Nahseb li innutajtu it-tbissima, bi snien perfetti, ta' Berlusconi, flimkien mat-tan mediterranju qisu ghadu gej mill-bahar.

Fl-ahhar mill-ahhar, ghal min hu nteressat, nahseb li kellu ragun Postman fil-ktieb 'Amusing Ourselves to Death'.

I love Italian politics in that a) it's a far more entertaining show than the whitewashed brain-numbing giberrish we put up with locally and b) the politicians are not afraid to mince their words.

Vulgar, yes... 'efficient'... also yes.

Thanks Athena. Twanny l-iskambji sublimi jinstabu kollha fuq Repubblica jew Corriere. Baldu jiena waqajt down meta rajt li biex tkun politiku trid ikollok snienek perfetti... tieghi imnejkin wisq!

Paul. It is vulgar, effective and stupid. Da coglione biex nifthiemu.

Off topic: Jacques do you use RSS feeds? I tried to get the Repubblica RSS feeds in my news widget (haven't checked if Corriere has them yet) and either I did something wrong (most likely) or the address is wrong, but I can't get it to work. Suggestions? :)

Berlusconi qed ngħidu wara kollox, l-istess persuna li għamel xi plastic surgery biex jibqa' jidher żgħir.
