I've Fallen In (and I can't get out)

It's a small world, and the blogosphere could only have made it smaller. We talk of the Maltese Blogosphere as though it should be any different from any other. The only difference is our vernacular which we are lucky enough to share with so few others. The themes and problems of today's world are more and more a common heritage. Global warming, idiots elected as president of the world's most powerful state, the price of petrol, terrorism and tolerance. The Maltese blogosphere and more particularly the two individuals who go by the nicks of erezija and gybexi have been talking about the issue of running away from your country to escape the problems therein.

We are not alone. What follows is the text of today's posting on Beppe Grillo's blog. I found it illuminating. I hope you do too. Discontented citizens of the world unite! Jacques Zammit. Quasi 30 anni. Maltese in Lussemburgo.

Questa mattina presto mi ha scritto una persona sul blog:

"ciao beppe, � la prima volta che intervengo. sono le 3.40 e fra meno di 5 ore i miei figli andranno a scuola. io sono una vittima tua, di luttazzi, della guzzanti di report ecc.Io non ce la faccio come te a cambiare il mondo e quindi dopo che le persone come te e come quelle sopracitate mi hanno convinto che quest'Italia fa molto schifo (me ne ero accorto anche da solo) ho deciso di emigrare.Forse sono vigliacco, ma la vita � una sola e da padre devo dare il meglio che posso ai miei figli e se il meglio � altrove... non credo che mi risponderai (e non sapr� mai che sei realmente tu) per� lo spero e adesso ritorno a dormire maledetta insonnia.marco poscetti 41 anni da Roma."

Caro Marco, pensavi che non ti leggessi, pensavi di essere solo e di poter emigrare senza dare nell'occhio.Non sei n� solo, n� il tuo pensiero � solitario.Caro amico non siamo noi che dobbiamo emigrare, ma ti capisco perch� anche a me ne � venuta la voglia.Anch'io ho pensato di stracciare la carta di identit�.Non � la gente onesta che deve emigrare.
