Wishy-Washy Pratchett

One third of the way into "Thud!" I can tell potential readers that it is a spoof of post-9/11 world with a particular eye on fundamentalism. Minor spoofs include a spoof of the Da Vinci Code and all conspiracy theorists. Here is a conversation I found in pages 80/81 of the hardback version:

"He is," Ardent rattled off a sentence in staccato dwarfish too fast for Vimes to catch it, and then translated, "wishy-washy, dangerously liberal. Shallow. He has seen the light."

"Thud!"by Terry the God is available online mainly at amazon but also I believe in other places. Buy it... there's no regretting it ...and for those aficionados who like me love the Nobbs/Colon witty exchanges... it is a MUST.
